DESCRIPTION:Collaboration and collectivity have shaped the musical life of 
 songwriter and music performer Bjarni Daníel\, who grew up deep in the gr
 assroots of Reykjavík\, Iceland’s vibrant music scene. As member of ban
 ds such as Supersport!\, Skoffín and bagdad brothers\, his voice has beco
 me synonymous with the ideals of the local DIT (do-it-together) movement\,
  spearheaded by music and arts collective Post-dreifing.\n\nIn 2023 Bjarni
  Daníel was awarded one of the nordic music business Top 20 under 30 for 
 his tireless work within the collective\, specifically their venue project
  Post-húsið and the annual Hátíðni music festival\, as well as having
  hosted a few of RÚV national radio’s most important new music programs
  over the last four years.\n\nHe has since then taken a couple of steps ba
 ck from this collective work to focus on his own practice and is currently
  studying new media composition at the Iceland University of the Arts\, al
 ongside his work with Supersport!\n\nThe framework of Bjarni Daníel’s c
 ompositions underscores a preference for rawness and vulnerability\, mutua
 lly within the realms of harmony and text\, as is evident on “the bull
 ’s eye” - a recent\, bandcamp-exclusive release which compiles multitu
 des of musical ideas in their plainest shapes\, mostly recorded on his pho
 ne during the tender moments of conception. Currently\, he is working on h
 is debut solo LP\, which is set to be recorded this October\, produced by 
 Bjarni’s long time friend and collaborator Árni Hjörvar Árnason of UK
  indie icons The Vaccines. On this album\, he elaborates on the work ethic
 s that have defined his earlier solo works\, placing simplicity and a clos
 eness to the creative core at the forefront of the piece\, while allowing 
 Árni’s input and that of the studio band\, which is comprised of some o
 f the Reykjavík scene’s most prominent voices\, to shape the material i
 n new and unexpected ways. In this way\, collaboration remains at the hear
